Yes, I too have been tagged - by my friend Chrissey. I saw it yesterday and have been putting it off, so here goes....
The RULES
Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog. Share 5 random and/or weird facts about yourself on your blog. or Share the 5 top places on your “want to see or want to see again” list. or Share 5 things you never pictured being in your future when your were 25 years old. Tag a minimum of 5, maximum of 10 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog. The tagees have a choice of which they want to do.
5 things I never pictured being in my future when I was 25 years old:
1) LOVING having a little boy (I only wanted girls.)
2) Being a regular at the YMCA (What's a band geek doing in there????)
3) Blogging (Blog? What's a blog?)
4) That my house would still be messy once I quit working and stayed home all the time. I honestly had some fantasy about hot meals on the table every night when Mike got home. Crazy.
5) That I would know the names of all of the Monster Jam monster trucks, some of the drivers, and would actually be looking forward to going to the show at the Ford Center next month. Not to mention I even tried to talk my husband into taking the whole family to Las Vegas in March for the World Finals. What? (See #1 - I'm sure they're related.)
Alright. Did it. Now I'm tagging Juli Beth, Jana Kay, Kelli, Mary and Michelle.

M - Saturday Pancake Proliferation
Much to my wife's chagrin, I like an occasional food experiment in the kitchen. Not that I enter the 'business-side' of the kitchen very often. It's not really that productive unless I'm making breakfast for myself while everyone else sleeps.
Since I usually eat between 5:15 and 5:45, any breakfast consumed with the family on weekends is really more of a 'brunch' of sorts around 10.
Following you will see pictures from our Bisquick pancake experiment. When mixing ingredients, it was just too tempting to have the Nestle Quik Strawberry mix so close at hand without using it. Strawberry pancakes sounded kinda tasty so we figured a little strawberry mix would really hit the spot. We eyeballed just enough of the powdery goodness to make our overall mix take on a pinkish hue.

Our first pancakes turned out great.

Not content with the boring round pancake, we put the batter in a ziploc bag and cut about 1/4-inch out of one corner. This allowed us to make some shapes in the pan. Letters are easiest.

Animals are fun but seldom recognizable if, like me, you have the artistic talent of a cement block.

Noah dubbed this a chicken although I was going for more of a bovine look.

One final word of warning, exercise extreme caution with the flip lest you decapitate your hapless creation.

D - A chip off the old (sarcastic) block
Today as I was waiting in line to drop Noah off at school, I picked up a magazine that Katie had taken from church the other night. You know - one of those freebies with pretty much nothing but ads from local places wanting you to spend your kid-oriented money there.
Anyhow, she saw me looking at it and decided she needed to have it. I told her just a minute that I wanted to look at it really quickly. She kept hounding me, and I was trying to appease her with little comments like "Oh.......Mmmmm, Hmmmmm........ In a minute........... I'm hurrying......" and on and on.
It wasn't really working and she was losing patience with me about the time that she saw an ad for Pump It Up and told me to look at it. I acted like I was looking for it (I know, bad mommy), but kept on reading my article. She was getting increasingly upset with me as she kept trying to describe where it was with me still being annoying by saying, "I'm looking......where is it?" I guess she finally had enough because she let me have it - a line her smart-allecky mom knows all too well - "It's right in front of your face!!!"
I know that I'm the one who created this monster, but she really does scare me.

M - Imagine There's No Color (please vote)
If anyone is so inclined, would you mind browsing on over to THIS SITE and picking your favorite five or ten pictures? I would REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR INPUT. There are really too many pictures on there but I had a hard enough time paring down this much. Each picture is special to me for reasons other than photographic appeal. If you simply look at the picture number on the right side of the screen (should be something like 22 of 107) and post or send that to me, that's all I need. There is no theme so just pick what you like (hopefully at least 5 pictures but less than 10).
Here is the site again:

Actually, I'm trying to figure out which ones to enter into a local photography contest. There is no actual prize other than the overwhelming satisfaction of knowing you had a picture better than about 3 other people who cared to enter the contest!
You can enter your choices in the comment section or email me directly. I believe the only people who really read this blog probably already have my email.
Thanks very much. I will post the results of the voting within a week from today.

D - So Apparently.....
If one should declare one's spouse to BE a photographer, apparently one should choose a photo in which said photographer does not feel the background is overexposed. Oops.

D - Ode to Conjunctivitis
Pink eye,
Stink eye.
Yuck to blink eye.
Goopy eye.
Matted eye.
Why? Why I?
Bad, you say? How about a haiku?
I like pink, I do.
But not in my eyes like this.
No makeup is bad.
So, technically a haiku is supposed to be "a type of Japanese poetry which presents a clear perception or picture of nature." But at least I got the correct number of lines and syllables.
